DÆNKWALK Experiencing Perception
The DÆNKWALK started with a simple question:
When was the last time you truly noticed what is happening around you?
In everyday life, we tend to move on autopilot.
From one moment to the next. From one stimulus to another.
A lot happens, but very little actually stays.
The DÆNKWALK creates space to question exactly that.
A day not designed to do more, but to experience things differently.
A shared framework
The walk is intentionally curated and limited to ten participants.
Not to exclude, but to create a setting where real encounters can emerge.
There is a structure, but no rigid schedule.
The day unfolds through the moment itself.
Through conversations, movement, and what happens between people.
Perception as focus
At the beginning, each participant receives a disposable camera.
Not as a tool for documentation, but as an invitation to become more aware of their own perspective.
A simple impulse accompanies the day:
a color, a detail, a focus.
What is captured is not defined.
What matters is what becomes meaningful to you.
A conscious approach to consumption
Part of the experience is a reflective approach to consumption.
Not as an end in itself, but as a way to open perception and support creativity.
The focus is not on intensity, but on awareness.
It is about becoming more sensitive to what is already there, not escaping from it.
Why Yayoi Kusama
At the center of the day is a visit to the exhibition of Yayoi Kusama at Museum Ludwig.
Kusama’s work revolves around perception, dissolution, and connection.
Her iconic dots and repetitive patterns reflect a world where boundaries begin to blur - between body, space, and environment.
Shaped by personal experiences and inner visions, her work becomes an ongoing dialogue with herself.
Between fragility and the desire to become part of something larger.
This is where the connection to the DÆNKWALK becomes clear.
The day follows a similar line: perception shifts, perspectives change,
and what begins as individual becomes shared through exchange.
The exhibition becomes a mirror.
A shared ending
The day concludes with a shared dinner.
A moment to reflect, to exchange thoughts, and to give space to what has been experienced.
What emerged throughout the day comes together here.
Conversations deepen. Perspectives connect.
The day fades out - calm, open, and shared.
What remains
The DÆNKWALK is not an event in the traditional sense.
It is a format that creates space.
For perception.
For exchange.
For what happens when you truly engage with the moment.
